Summer Camp

SUMMER CAMPS FOR CHILDREN WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DIFFERENCES!

Please check the list below for programs your child may enjoy and
would benefit from. Camps are designed for children with different
abilities and ages. Camp fees start as low as $8 per hour. Please feel

INDOOR AND OUTDOOR FUN WITH CDD

Children served: ages 5 and up
Children with all types of disabilities and their typically developing
siblings are welcome.
Camp dates:
June 21 to July 2 (2 weeks) 9:00-12:00
June 21 to July 2 (2 weeks) 12:30-3:30
July 6 to July 16 (2 weeks) 9:00-12:00
July 6 to July 16 (2 weeks) 12:30-3:30
Camp activities include:
One week of activities focusing on arts & crafts, speech &
communication skills, social behavior, fun games, music & dance, and
fine motor skills indoor. One week of activities focusing on gross
motor skills, socialization, fun games, music & dance, and
communication skills outdoor.
Camp fee:
$50 one-time registration and assessment fee (new clients only); $75
after June 1, 2010
$250 per 2 week session (about $8 per hour)

BRAIN POWER

 
Children served: ages 5 and up
Children with undiagnosed or diagnosed learning disabilities, and
developmental delays
Camp dates:
August 2 to August 13 (2 weeks) 12:30-2:30
Camp activities include:
Learning style assessment, fun and productive study skill exercises,
review and practice of homework strategies.
Camp fee:
$50 one-time registration and assessment fee (new clients only); $75
after June 1, 2010
$150 per 2 week session ($7.5 per hour)

MUSIC THERAPY CAMP

 
Children served: ages 2 and up
Children with all types of disabilities and their typically developing
siblings are welcome.

Camp dates:
July 19 to July 23 (one week) 1:30-4:00
August 16 to August 20 (one week) 9:00-11:30

Camp activities include:
Music therapy, fun games, focusing on speech and communication skills,
socialization and positive behavior.
Camp fee:
$50 one-time registration and assessment fee (new clients only); $75
after June 1, 2010
$187.50 per 1 week session ($15 per hour)

CONDUCTIVE EDUCATION – INTENSIVE MOTOR TRAINING PROGRAM

Children served: age 1 and up
Children with motor developmental delay, brain injuries, spina bifida,
and Cerebral Palsy

Camp dates:
July 19 to August 13 (4 weeks) 9:00-11:30 (+12:30-1:15 swim time if
swimming is elected)
Camp activities include:
Active learning process focusing on fine and gross motor skills,
communication, and self-help skills. Teaching children to become more
independent. CDD is the only facility in SE VA area to provide this
highly successful program.
Camp fee:
$50 one-time registration and assessment fee (new clients only); $75
after June 1, 2010
$2,000 per 4 week session ($40 per hour)
$3,000 per 4 week session if swimming is elected (about $35 per hour)

SPEECH UNLIMITED

Children served: ages 2 and up
Children with all types of disabilities and their typically developing
siblings are welcome.

Camp dates:
July 26 to July 30 (one week) 12:30-3:00
August 16 to August 20 (one week) 12:30-3:00
August 23 to August 27 (one week) 12:30-3:00

Camp activities include:
Fun games, hands-on activities, arts & crafts, social activities
focusing on communication, speech and language skills.
Camp fee:
$50 one-time registration and assessment fee (new clients only); $75
after June 1, 2010
$187.50 per 1 week session ($15 per hour)
